Okay so let me tell you about me and my torture. I live next to my husband's parent's. His odd, eccentric, cheap, crap collecting parents. While it wasn't our first choice to live there, they happen to have one of the best pieces of property in town. They graciously gave us 5 acres as a wedding gift to build on. I only agreed if my father in law would clean up their property. It's been a long haul in that department, but he's made good on the deal.
Now, if I could just get them to leave me the hell alone life would be PERFECT! I literally hide when I am outside without much success. They know when I am in the garden (it can be 6am or 8pm). They know when the dogs are doing something they shouldn't. They know when I go inside (as my mother in law will call immediately afterwards).
So, last night I tried something new. I moved my lounge chair behind my garden so that they couldn't see me! AHHHH peace. Finally. After 4 years of no peace there was a place I could hide. Until my 2 precious dogs gave me away. My father in law came outside and my two labs went running to see him (it's not their fault...they love unconditionally...no matter how much of an ass someone is!). So I called them back. Then it started. The un-ending conversation. The pointless, mindless conversation. The entire time I was continuing to HIDE! I was just a voice coming from the garden area until he caught on and said "where are you?" Eff Bomb. I had to give up my spot. Thank goodness he didn't come over. Give him time. He's crazy sneaky. Both of them will find me. She will bring me some piece of shit I don't want and I'll just throw it away and he'll come over and just pester my husband. By the way - my husband feels the same exact way I do! It's sad that we both dream of the day we don't have neighbors...Yeah I know it's mean, real mean...but dammit...it's the truth! They are crazy mother effers!
Here are some of the items that my father in law has cleaned out of his yard since my husband and I have been married (oh and just so you know...we are nothing like them at all! My husband is a neat freak!
- An old school bus - a must have for everyone
- 16 boats - salvaged from a marina about 40 minutes away. These boats were abandoned by their owners for a very good reason and given away by the marina to my father in law
- countless old tires
- an old horse trailer (they don't have horses)
- 2 old tires turned into flower planters - oh how tacky
- way too much scrap metal to count
